DAM, MULUND MUMBAI ON 7TH MAY 2022
On
7th May 2022, I, Zamir Dhale’ the founder of the Society For
The Empowerment Of The Deaf-Blind(SEDB) India was invited along with Ms. Bushra
Merchant’ the first Board Member of the SEDB’ to attend Deaf Chats event
organized by Deaf Association of The Mumbai(DAM) at Mulund’ Mumbai as special
Guest, as the first deafblind person to meet many and more than 400 deaf
participants from all across Maharashtra and interacted with them. Some people
already knew me sometime before. But’ some people who are not aware about
deafblind person. They are learnt through the experience of meeting me. Ms.
Bushra is also a deaf-low vision(DLV).
Meanwhile’
Ms. Sangeeta Gala’ the Vice President of the SEDB (rights of the women and
child) was also with us at the dais, special guests who were deaf were
talking about technologies rights of the deaf people’ meant is that deaf people
should learn and study and also do hard work such as reading the gaining
knowledge and information about Right to Information(RTI)’ deaf people should
focus on work’ good work’ do on time as discipline’ trust others’ understand
friend and share with them each other’ share their experiences about diversity
in beliefs, rituals irrespective of caste, race caste’ etc. Enjoyment and jokes
talking is important to make good health.
I
gave my speech’ I talked about SEDB and deafblind people in India’ shared about
my small experience life as well. Over all I explained about how to communicate
with deafblind people through writing on palm, computer, mobile phone,
tactile communication etc. I also shared few words about Usher Syndrome, For
example I was a deaf born, I used to go deaf school day to day life. Gradually
my vision too deteriorated and I lost my vision at the age of 10. I could see a
little but due to progressive vision loss, gradually felt difficulty to see
anything. Similarly deaf children could face similar problems, So deaf child
should learn to overcome their difficulties in life. For example, If some deaf
child will get irritated if they have difficulty to see anything. But do not
worry about deafblind children’s future. Organisation like SEDB is there to
help deaf and deafblind people as strong collections. Especially deaf &
deaflow vision, Please do not watch the video and photos too much, do not think
too much. Do not take any tensions about job and work. At SEDB, we are with you
all and bring so many and more deafblind friends to join a big group to discuss
and understand the motivation sessions.
Finally’
Deaf students should do hard work to study more better. Deaf and deafblind
people should influence government of India and asking government to help you
to get better educated in English including Hindi. Deaf and Deafblind should
read and write skills like normal world. Government school teachers should
learn Indian Sign Language to teach deaf students, not to force them to use
oral. This is because they do not understand sound what is voice meanings.
Parents of deaf and deafblind should understand and learn ISL do it very well.
Government of India should give deaf and deafblind equal rights treat them with
equality, like all others. Also give job opportunity and equal salary, which is
is important to be treated with equality. Thank you!
